Ad stack monitoring for publishers

Know the moment your ad stack breaks.

PubPilot watches your Google Ad Manager reports, the ad scripts on your pages and your ads.txt, and alerts you by email, Slack or in the app when something changes. Self-serve: $1 for 7 days, then your plan.

Ad revenue breaks quietly.

Nothing goes down. A tag goes missing, a file changes, a rule shifts, and the only symptom is a number that looks a little low.

Friday, 17:40

A release drops the GPT tag from one template.

The page still loads. The ads do not. Nobody reads a GAM report on a Saturday.

Found on Monday, in the weekly report.
Tuesday, 11:15

Someone edits ads.txt and overwrites a line.

A demand partner stops bidding on your inventory that afternoon. Fill looks a little low.

Found when the partner asks why spend fell.
Any day, 09:00

A pricing rule or line item change sends CPMs down.

Google Ad Manager does not send an email. The dashboard looks normal unless you know where to look.

Found days later, if at all.

By the time someone asks “when did this start?”, days of revenue are gone. PubPilot answers that question on the day it happens.

One account that watches all three.

The GAM reports, the live page and the ads.txt file: the three places where publisher ad revenue breaks, each with its own monitor.

Monitor 01

Google Ad Manager anomaly alerts

Rules on your own GAM reports, checked every 15 minutes on Pro and Enterprise, every hour on Plus, once a day on Starter. You pick the metric and the dimension; PubPilot tells you when it moves.

  • Four rule types: percentage drop, percentage rise, absolute threshold, zero activity
  • Metrics such as revenue, impressions, CPM and fill, by ad unit, device, country, order or line item
  • Templates for the common cases, so the first rules take minutes

Monitor 02

On-page script monitoring

One script on your pages checks that the ad stack is actually there: googletag and Prebid loaded, ad slots present and firing. When a release breaks a template, you hear about it from the page, not from the end-of-month report.

  • Checks run in real visitors' browsers, on the pages they load
  • Checks you define: globals such as googletag and pbjs, DOM selectors, element counts, text on the page
  • Alerts name the domain, the page and the check that failed

ads.txt validation and change detection

PubPilot fetches your ads.txt, validates it and remembers what it looked like. When a line you require disappears, or the file changes at all, you get an alert with the difference.

  • Syntax checked against the IAB spec, duplicates flagged
  • Required lines: the partners that must always be there
  • Change detection with the lines added and removed, and auto-resolve when fixed

Alert sent

Three steps to set up. Alerts where your team already looks.

Connect Google Ad Manager

Sign in with the Google account that has access to your network. PubPilot reads reports; it never changes anything in GAM.

Add a domain and paste one script

Add the domains you want watched. For the page monitor, paste one script tag, through your tag manager or in the template.

<script async src="https://cdn.pub-pilot.com/…">

Pick starter alerts

Choose from templates or write your own rules, decide who gets which alert, and you are done.

Alerts by email, Slack and in the app

Each alert says what moved, where, and by how much, so the person who gets it can act without opening a dashboard first.

Questions before you start.

It depends on the plan: once a day on Starter, every hour on Plus, and every 15 minutes on Pro and Enterprise. The on-page script runs in your visitors' browsers as pages load, so a broken tag shows up as soon as real traffic hits the page.
